Jokers Wild Video Poker Strategy

One of the variations of video poker that you can play at online casinos is Jokers Wild. It is played with a regular 52 card deck plus a Joker. The Joker is the wild card and can be used as any card you need to better your hand. There are two main versions of Jokers Wild video poker. One version has the minimum payout being two pair while the other version pays out on a pair of Kings or better.

Since it makes sense to find a machine that pays out with Kings or better we’ll look at strategy for that type of machine. The strategy for this game is to keep all three of kind hands expect when you have four to a royal flush. You also want to keep any four-card straight or four-card flush hand. You always want to keep three cards to a royal or a straight flush. You want to keep one pair hands of two kings or two aces.

If you are not dealt any hand that is listed above and get a Joker you discard all four of the other cards and keep your Joker. If you don’t get a hand with a Joker and it is not one of the above hands then you want to keep all pairs, and you hold two cards to a royal if one of the cards is an Ace or King. If you have just an Ace or a King you hold that card and hope to hit at least a pair.
